Clyde Rockwell, 92, died Monday at 7:30 a.m. in the Knox County Home after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Knox County.

Mr. Rockwell is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Flora of Lima, and two brothers, John of North Manchester, Ind., and Sharon of Grand Blanc, Mich.

A graveside service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Rodger Sillars officiating. Flowers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Francis Robert Flora, 83, Ottawa, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. He was born July 9, 1926, in Menomonie, Wis., to Noah Henry Flora and Mary (Rockwell) Flora.

He lived a majority of his life in the Ottawa area.

He was employed at Buildex, owned his own floor covering service and also worked five or six years for Crooks Floor coverings and 11 years for Nitcher Floor Service.

Later, he and his wife worked for the Corps of Engineers as gate attendants and camp ground managers, the first year at Kanapolis Lake and then nine years at Pomme de Terre in Missouri, retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed reading and watching the “Duke”, John Wayne. He was an avid collector of Indian trinkets.

He married Betty Pauline Jones July 15, 1944, at Menomonie, Wis. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include five daughters, Wanda Crooks and her husband, Dick, Ottawa, Carol Beckner and her husband, Ken, Belen, N.M., Betty Archer and her husband, Wayne, Ottawa, Marg Dunkin and her husband, Dale, Ottawa, Kathy Miller and her husband Calvin, Ottawa; a son, David Flora and his wife, Joanna, Ottawa; two brothers, Kenneth Flora, Covington, Ohio, and Robert Flora, Pleasant Hill, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Noah Henry Flora; a daughter, Mary Frances Flora; four brothers, Harvey, Earl, Donald and Carl Flora; a sister, Hazel Flora; and a grandson, Darrin Crooks.

Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

MRS. JAMES W. LAHMON

Mrs. Nellie M. Lahmon, 74, widow of James W. Lahmon, resident of 136 W. Orchard St., admitted to Newark Hospital Aug. 12, died there at 7:25 p.m. Thursday. She had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill more than two weeks.

Mrs. Lahmon, a retired practical nurse, came to Newark 10 years ago from Utica. She was the daughter of John and Mary (Smith) Rockwell, born July 10, 1884 in Knox County.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1935, and she leaves a son Earl Lahmon of Maple City, Mich.; also five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Flora of Lima; four brothers, Clyde and Robert Rockwell of Mt. Vernon, Sharon Rockwell of Flint, Mich., and John Rockwell of Ft. Wayne, Ind. A sister, Mrs. Hattie Beckholt is deceased. Mrs. Lahmon was a member of the Christian Church of Utica.

The body is at Criss Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph A. Garshaw will officiate at services there at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Brandon. Friends May call at the funeral home.

Long Illness Brings Death at His Home This Morning

Utica, Dec. 3. - James Lahmon died at 5:13 this morning in his home in North Central avenue, following a long illness. Death was due to complications of diseases. Mr. Lahmon, a resident of Utica for a number of years, was employed as chauffeur for the late Dr. A. E. Smith. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nellie Lahmon; a son Earl of Detroit and several brothers, one of whom is Hugh Lahmon of near Utica. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in charge of Rev. C. C. Smith. Burial is in Fairview cemetery by the C. C. Law company

ROCWELL, Edna A. – of Grand Blanc, age 88, passed away Sunday, July 15, 1984, at Crestmont Manor. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, July 18, 1984, at the Hill funeral Home, Grand Blanc, Rev. John Flora officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Crestmont Manor in memory of Edna Rockwell. Visitation from 6-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Rockwell was born in Mulberry, Indiana, February 9, 1896, the daughter of Perry and Martha (Shively) Metzger. She married Sharon J. Rockwell, December 24, 1919. She was a member of Old Order German Baptist Church of Ash Grove District, Ohio. Surviving are: husband, Sharon J. Rockwell; 5 children, Kenneth and Joyce Rockwell, Thelma and Robert Kinsey, Mildred and Richard Harris, Howard and Ella Rockwell, Josephine and Allan Davis; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie Wagoner of Flora, Indiana; many nieces and nephews.

Vernon, Ohio, February 5, 1895, the son of John H. and Jennie E. (Smith) Rockwell. He married Edna A. Metzger of Browning, Illinois, on December 24, 1919, she preceded him in death in 1984. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Church of Ash Grove District, Lima, Ohio. Surviving are: 5 children, Kenneth and Joyce Rockwell, Thelma and Robert Kinsey, Mildred and Richard Harris, Howard and Ella Rockwell, Josephine and Allan Davis; 12 grand-children; 17; great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. ROCKWELL, Kenneth E. - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Bristol United Methodist Church, G-5285 Van Slyke Road, Flint with Rev. Dr. Olaf Lidums officiating. Entombment will follow in Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 6-8 PM Monday and 1-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Bristol United Methodist Church or Avalon Hospice. Kenneth was born March 15, 1921 in Scottville, the son of Sharon and Edna (Metzger) Rockwell. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Tech 5 in Field Artillery. He was married to Joyce E. Bentley on September 21, 1946 in Flint. He retired from A.C. Spark Plug in 1980 after 39 years of service. Kenneth was an active member and treasurer of Bristol United Methodist Church, a member of Industrial Executive's Club, Model Airplane Club of Swartz Creek, and Past President of the Flats Condo Campground in Sanford. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter Reushan K. and husband Charles Russian of Sanford; grandchildren, C. Donovan and wife, Tanya Russian of Flushing and Dacia and husband, Joseph Albaugh of Spring Lake; great-grandson, C. Brendon Russian; 3 sisters, Thelma and husband Robert Kinsey of Davison, Mildred and husband, Richard Harris of Flint, Josephine Davis of Flint; brother, Howard and wife, Ella Rockwell of Mt.
